Cheesy steak subs!

Serves 6

  • 1 piece Rump steak / sliced thinly 
  • 500grams round steak / sliced thinly
  • 1 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1 Tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • Olive oil
  • Unsalted butter
  • Bread rolls
  • Smokey cheese
  • 1 green capsicum / sliced
  • 1 red capsicum / sliced
  • 1 yellow capsicum / sliced
  • Handful mushrooms / sliced
  • 1 large onion / sliced
  • Sirachi sauce (Optional)
  • French American mustard (optional)

  1. Once all veggies & meat have been sliced and prepared. In a bowl place he sliced steak sprinkle paprika, salt, cayenne pepper and a little olive oil- mix well.
  2. Heat a knob of butter in a skillet sautè all veggies till soft & onions are translucent 
  3. Once veggies are done, set aside. In the same skillet using a paper towel wipe the surface. Heat a little more butter and cook the steak in small batches. 
  4. Once the steak has started to change colour and cook slowly, add some of the cooked veggie mix. 
  5. Mix together well, add a few slices of the smokey cheese & allow to melt. Once cheese has melted start filling your bread rolls.
  6. Wrap the filled bread rolls in foil & place into a preheated oven for approx 5-7mins.
  7. Remove the subs rom the oven and if chosen squeeze some of the sirachi sauce & mustard to provide a delicious kick.
